What is the best way for me to attach my RO to the fitting in the picture below?

1st off it looks metal will it be submerged in any way?

That fitting looks new, right? In which case it should have come with the ferrule etc that you'll need, as long as it's the same diameter as your RO tubing

To me this looks like an under sink hook up for something like a fridge. Does the nut come off and have a compression ferrule? If so you will need to get a small metal sleeve that you insert inside the plastic ro tubing so the ferrule does not crush the tube as it is being compressed.

Yeah it does have the Ferrule. Just push the tubing in with ferrule and tighten nut?

Compression Insert 1/4 Brass #41288 (you need this to keep the 1/4 plastic tube from collapsing) . This is the ace hardware number.
