Okay I have a new Eshopps R-100 refugium sump on my 75g tank and I installed a Bubble Magus curve 5 and the problem I am having is that the foam production is almost nill like someone poured a flat Sprite into a cup! No my tank has a couple of clowns and a Hippo tang and a bunch of Zoa's and Lps's and always made great skim on my Eshopps psk-100 HOB skimmer. The Curve5 is in 9" of water which should be ok and I can adjust the water level in the skimmer all the way from overflowing to halfway down the neck so I'm good in that respect. It seems like there is a lot of bubbles getting out of the skimmer into the sump from the lower part near the pump and from the Images I've seen it usually seems like a cyclone of bubbles but mine looks more like the bubbles are all over the place and a bunch below the lower holed ring near the pump. Confused???

Now my main concern is that almost every skimmer I've installed foamed like crazy for a while but this one's bubbles are more like a small fizz and very tame?

Is the skimmer body clamped down properly on the base plate? I have the curve 7 it's not running at the moment but I noticed if you don't have the body on just perfect it won't seal right.

Make sure you have good air flow
well I don't see where the actual airflow is adjustable and it new and not clogged, I put my finger over the air intake and it stopped bubbling but the water didn't rise. My old psk-100 when you put your finger over the airline it would stop bubbling and the water would rise in the chamber but that was a HOB.

If its only been running a week, Id leave it alone for another week til I started getting worried.

Okay I just checked the muffler on the air system part of it and I took the top off of it started to foam and act normal I could even see the vortex of air being introduced to the cone - yeah! So what I found under closer inspection is that the insert tube in the muffler part of the air intake was cut to long and when you put the cap on it shut down more than half of the air so I cut a 1/8" off of the pipe and reassembled it and it's working great now thanks Busa1340 and ATB USA for the check airflow comments that's what made me check LOL!

You need air to make bubbles. Glad you found it. Sometimes I find pieces of foam inside a new AC pumps from the packing material.
