Need some skimmer recommendations

You might simply be unaware of skimmer marketing, which is a good thing! (I'm not sure why you or anyone would be so eager to be a part of said marketing since it amount to lies. LOL)

What you added to the thread was a picture of a very dirty skimmer that just needs a cleaning. I'm not sure there's anything to gain by making more out of it than that.

How long do you typically go between cleanings and how long was that pic?

BTW, I'm still glad you're enjoying your skimmer. :)

(In case anyone is taking notes: dirty skimmers do not pull as much gunk as a clean skimmer...this is the major reason why ease of use is one of the main factors to consider when buying a skimmer. If cleaning is difficult, it won't get done.)

Umm... I guess I'm wasting my time talking with you if you don't read what I've posted. The skimmer review thread I linked to answers those questions. And if anyone were to follow the threads I've opened or posted would totally know I'm skeptical of ALL marketing and claims and like to test them out.

And to the OP, I do not run a skimmer on my 20 gallon long mantis tank. I don't use any kind of filters or media. Just a basic weekly water change. It is filled with soft corals so take that for what it's worth. I would have no idea what it takes to run a nano with a bunch of sps in it. That seems like it would be harder then a bigger tank would be to control.

If you really wanted a skimmer I would go with something from bubble magus. Love their skimmers and they do an excellent job.

I own a seafood restaurant on Borneo I installed a skimmer on the Prawn system and dropped the fatality rate from 80% to 30 %

That's pretty impressive. What is it about adding the skimmer do you attribute that reduced fatality rate to?

In a commercial system stocking density is often through the roof, so I'd bet on aeration alone being the solution. I'd bet at least a nickel. :)

Yes, it's a good guess. But I was hoping that he may have some input with some test data and get more information on the setup.
