So brought back 2 toadstool's from my LFS here...2nd from left...nice poylp extension, seemed fine. Left it on the bottom of my tank, as seen here, for about 4-5 days....

...then I moved it up in the tank to about the middle third. Within hours, it now looks like this, and has stayed that way for the last 2-3 days ! Don't think it's shedding...did I shock it too soon by moving it up in the tank ? Should I drop it back down to the bottom ? Everything I've read says they can take just about any kind of light. I have 2 Hydra 26's about 18" above the toadie, which are at about 80% across all 4 channels. Everything else in my tank seems fine, so don't think its a water thing.

Same thing with this one...same timeframe of acclimation and moved to same height in tank...no polyps !

Anybody got any ideas or advice ??

Thanks

Moving likely caused this. They will bounce back. Give them some time.

Toadstools will close up and go all dramatic with the slightest provocation. Just leave it alone and give it time. It may open back up tomorrow or it could take a couple weeks if it decides to shed.

Thanks for the replies...as far as flow is concerned, they're at the top of my LR. On each side is an MP10 set at maybe 40% for the various modes.(this is a RS250) If you look at my FTS here, its at the same level as the Nepthea, and it's swaying pretty good...not blasted like an SPS or anything, but what I would consider decent flow. The toadstools are to the left of the Goby's tail and below the clownfish. They're probably 8-9" below the waterline, and the lights are another 8" above that. I've measured PAR before and I wanna say it was around 200 par, +-20.

I've lost so many corals in the past and it always seems to happen when I move them up to this part of the tank....mostly SPS coral, so I gave up on those, but why I'm gun-shy now with these toadstools. Hate to loose them too.

So give it more time...check...fingers crossed !!

Thought I'd put in an update for the next guy...the big shroom seems to have bounced back....but the other not so much. Moved him back down to the bottom, may have given him too much light...idk....we'll see.
