I need some appropriate suggestions...I've gotten all sorts of answers and am now just overwhelmed with options...I've got a 45 gal bowfront 36" wide 20" deep...what are some specific recommendations...I'm not looking to handle clams or SPS, so I don't think I need the most powerful units
Thanks in advance

There are a ton of options, but there is some things that could sway you one way or another. There are a few things that would help narrow down the list. Do you want a light that has extra features such as wifi connectivity, or the ability to connect it to a controller such as an Apex to control the light? Also, do you know how you would like to mount the light, whether it is hanging it from the ceiling, or a mount similar to what AI offers for the prime?

Mounting doesn't really matter it can sit/hang or be part of an arm...my old light hang, but I'm flexible, wifi is not needed...controller options may be considered for future upgrade

Understanding yourself will go a long way in focusing on a light thats right for you. You will never be more unhappy in a product when someone else recommends something for you that doesnt know you! I always say educate yourself in lighting, a basic understanding, and look at the top three out there. Once your comfortable its right for you then pull the trigger.

Cant go wrong with any of those units. Once you configure them, you don't have to touch them anymore.
The Maxspect might be the easiest to use besides the kessil. The kessil has simple knobs, but you may want to invest in the controller for it.

Looking for under $400... If something is available...
Would the Kessil provide enough coverage it looks like a pendant
And it seems there are a few different max spect r420r options

I think at that price range you killed everything up there. 420R is the cheapest at $429. Ya you would need two Kessils or invest in the 720 and that blows the budget. The Radion is $650+, and Hydra 52 is 499-599.

You may want to look at chinese black boxes.

You can pick up chinese made led for less than $200 powerful enough and some users seem happy. They are all about the same, manufactured by the same three companies in China just different names dont let anyone fool you. I would save up a few more months and get exactly what you want, best of luck!

There is a guy selling the Radion gen2 with wide angle lens on this forum for around $350 shipped
