Hey everyone.

I have a doubt and wanting to see what you guys think.

My current rockscape (see pics) doesnt have enough space to mount my frags (around 35 frags). So i am think to switching to this bonsai reef (see pic). What do you guys think.

Also the plan would be adding a marine pure block for bacteria surface and remove the rocks and put the new bonsai reef with plenty of room for my frags.

Would you do that?

You did not get very fortunate with the shape of your rocks if you placed an order online... I'm sure you could make them work though with some epoxy/acrylic rods if you were up for it. I like the look of the tree as well and it will be cool once it is covered in coralline. I prefer to remove plugs though. Check out the caribsea life rock. I ordered online and got some great stuff and it already looks like it's covered in purple when you get it.

I’d just grab a few different rocks that have better shapes for mounting if I were you. I’d take out that big center rock and maybe add a longer arch shaped rock. How big is the tank? Seems like 35 frags is going to be a tight squeeze regardless of what you do once they grow a bit.

Just my personal opinion, but I think those bonsai tree things look ridiculous. Might be nice for a frag tank but I’d never use one in my display tank.

I did 2 island one was more of a cliff which I assumed then being sticks I can place them on the sides but this was a bad idea eventually had to break it down becaue it limits your space drastically although aesthetically it looked really nice, slanted surfaces to maximize real state for Yankee sps which most need to encrust the rock before they shoot up

Not online but from my lfs (not a great selection nor options). I will look into that brand.

Any pictures? How is the scape now?

Yeah it’s mostly cover now but this is the left and right, the left island had to be redone at least the top are which was one big rock with a big cliff, my picture taking sucks but try to get a bit of slanted space maybe merge a few rocks on the sides of the big boulder to give it that down hill look which will give you better space

Btw my entire rockwork is sitting on about 5-6 small pieces of rock to leave the bottom as open as possible my fish love the hide outs and my snails love the open sand
