I attached a crude topographical map of my rock work and how I have it set up. The rocks are all glued together and have been growing coral and sea life for 3 years now so I cant really move them. I tried this weekend lol. So I have two Maxspect Gyre XF150's on each apposing side. They alternate every hour and run in pulse mode at 8 on the dial. The return is a Sicce 3.0 715 gph pump and the overflow is a 1000 GPH overflow. I have tried everything and I cannot fix the dead spots in red with the gyre's. Because of the rockwork in the back I understand the dead spots there but I cant figure out the green circle where the flow is so much it strips the sand from the bottom. but does not do it on the other side. Both pumps are identical in height, placement, and even power but the front left dead spot continuously collects detritus and my lazy swimmers hang out there. I have several different sized jebao pump's and was thinking about adding another supplemental pump to try and fix the dead spots but cant find a good place to put one that wont look horrible. Any ideas?

I feel your pain. I have had that happen to me. It takes moving the pumps just a little or getting just the right pattern to fix these things. Sometimes, it may be worth it to have a pump come on once a day to just really clear out the spots. Since you cannot move the rock work. :)

I hate when the pumps clear an area of sand to the bottom. UUHHGGG! I just keep playing until I find a happier place. Until then, make sure to use a turkey baster or something to clean out those dead spots.
