I have been tasked by my daughter to find a pink fish for the reef tank that is not an anthias species. She's looking for a list so she can decide what she'd like to add for "her" fish. Apparently no one has bothered to put that list together in the past because googling "pink saltwater fish" didn't make for an easy solution...

Here's the setup:
120g mixed reef less than a year old. Currently stocked/will be stocked in the future with two ocellaris clowns, yellow watchman, Bartlett's anthias, sargassum trigger and a white tailed bristletooth tang. We have invertebrates as well for a cuc.

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

My longnose hawkfish is sort of pink. The all time pinkish fish would be a candy basslet haha

Ha! You suffer from the same disease I have (or so I'm told) :) . As my daughter would point out vehemently: "Those are clearly PURPLE fish; you can't tell the difference between pink and purple?" Well, apparently not, and for the record I often accidentally mix navy blue socks with black slacks as well. Oh, and btw keep it up and I'm getting you a frogfish and you can sit and look at its ugly mug instead...

Yep, guilty as charged.
Eh, close enough ;)

Look at helfrichi firefish, royal gramma, pink skunk clown, pink mystery wrasse, and maybe if your fish can hold their own a six line wrasse (has some pink but not a ton).

Why not an anthias? Sunburst anthias are pink and are good kept without conspecifics and pink.

Female pencil wrasses are pink.

For all of that, so is a Cirrhilabrus isosceles ... with yellow patterning and a deep purple highlight.

Perhaps because they already have the Bartlett's?

She's looking for a unique fish of her own and I picked the anthias prior. We looked through the suggestions last night and she decided on the Mystery wrasse, which was surprising because I didn't think it was the best representation of a pink fish, but hey, the only thing that really matters is that she's taking an interest and that makes me feel good.

Thanks everyone for offering up suggestions.

A lot of female/juvi wrasses are pinkish....
