My 170 arrives today. I'll have it set up after my coast to coast flight tonight. I'm going back and forth on lighting. Trying to keep as clean as possible. Doing sps/lps. What does everyone think?

At 24" you could do a t5 fixture or a Radion xr 30 g3. To get the full spread of light across your tank.

I want to use a t5....the issue is hanging the light. Was thinking AI prime. Not sure on the spread though

If the Prime has enough spread I think that'll be a great option. It's much sleeker than the radion. The radion mount is pretty bulky. I put two primes on my Fluval M90 and they look great. Also, no controller needed with them. They have built in wifi and you can control them with your phone or computer with MyAI.

Tank is 24x24. I figure the outside 3 inches on each side won't need coverage.

AI Prime would require a couple of lights to do your tank. If you want to keep SPS in the tank.

After looking into this more I think you're right! The prime won't give me the coverage I'm looking for. Now I'm stuck!

Thinking about the Kessel 160. I hate to do 600 or 700 on a light to run it at 30%. Unless the single cluster radion would work?

You would need two lights. I have Kessels also and a single light just doesn't light a 24 inch tank well.
