i just did some aquascaping while the rock was wet because it came from one of my other tanks since it was a holding tank hybrid thingy and it was an experience and a half but i got a formation that looks huge in the tank is that normal?? its only halfway up the tank leaving plenty of empty water vacancy for corals and fish and i king of went with designs i liked with the thirds rule heres a pic:

my tank is really photogenic its not that i like it (well kind of) its just going to be full of corals anyways so i went with practical formations

about everything except for birdsnests and branching corals im not that good, and mainly a BTA or more if it splits?

I think it looks cool, maybe a mini rock in front right laying horizontal on sand so you can have an island of some coral you don’t want spreading to other rock work?

I think it looks "huge" because of the larger pieces of rock you are using. I would break them up into smaller pieces. Large chucks of rock in smaller tanks throw off the proportions of the scape and make the tank look smaller than it is.

I think you are off to a good start, here are a couple of suggestions. 1. Move rock on the right to the left a little for easier glass cleaning, leave about 2” if you can. 2. Add a rock of small/medium size to the structure on the left making it a bit taller to help with the rule of thirds. 3. Like Eakthefreak said, lay some smaller flat stones in the front for some coral islands.

I like the structures. As Weasel mention varying the heights of the structures tends to make a more beautiful aquarium. I like your bare sand myself. Creating negative space by leaving sand bare also adds to the beauty.

thanks for the needed input! my clownfish already are exploring the rock work and are swimming throughout it i also snagged a pic
