Need to Couple Metric to Standard - Bulk Reef Issue

Folks,

I fell into the trap of buying the 40mm to 1 1/4 adapters at Bulk Reef, only to find they don't actual allow you to connect to a 40mm PVC pipe. Both my drain and return is partially metric (Waterbox) and need to McGyver something that will work and be leak proof. Any ideas? I hate to have to wait 3-4 days for CoralVue to send me two parts, and delay my build.

Appreciate any ideas very much!!

You could try McMaster car of a fitting that is the exact size. They ship very fast and have everything in stock always. Still going to have to wait but atleast it will be exactly what you need. Also sometimes lowes or home depot or a small home improvement store can have what you are looking for but rarely. It sucks to wait I understand your pain. You can try calling to ask if they have it in stock before you go but I have found most of the time they dont even know what they have in stock.

For metric plumbing, you're realistically looking at mail order companies. I've never seen any metric parts at Lowe's/HD or any of the Mom&Pop shops.

The only time I have ever saw them was on a order that someone didnt pick up so they put them on the shelf.
