Need to create a high pressure spray tool to remove asternia?

so i have an asternia problem and i an about to swap liverock from one tank to another. Im thinking a high pressure sprat nozzel would knock them right off the rock before i put the rock in the new tank. Does anyone have any idea of what i can use for this?

Why not get a Harlequin shrimp - Hymenocera picta and your sea star problem will be gone without risk to damage your LS

They are not on there like glue. You can suck them off with a hose siphon.

Harlequin Shrimp are very effective, as mentioned above. They will die when the starfish are all gone.

Even if you spray down the rock, all that you need to miss is a few and they will all come back. I never found them to be a problem.

the thing is i am moving rocks from one tank to another and i would get a chance to hose them off or shake them off before getting into the new tank, then i will get harlequin shrimp to go through and get the rest of them.
my current tank is invested and i lost more zoas then i can grow its so frustrating.

if i hose off Live rick with my garden hose will it kill all the bacteria on it?
if not what if i use like a 1800gph pump with a home made attatchment to attatch a garden hose nozel to the pump i would hose off the rocks so they fall into my old tank before placing them in new tank.

other thoery is do they die in cold water? what if i do not put a heater in my new tank? can i cycle my tank in cold water?

that means in some circles you have stuff you can sell. wouldn't take much to get a hundred bucks of asterinae I bet lol.

Haha i do t have the tome or patience for that.
i can pick every one would take a week loll

Just to be safe swap it over and dont risk killing your bacteria, sponges, etc. If your getting the shrimp regardless then just put it in from the get go. That would be the less time consuming route as well

I agree. I removed maybe 25 or so in the 16 months my tanks been up running all by hand. They dont reproduce very fast in my tank, plus when I see one and its accessible out it comes otherwise I wait until I can get to it

its just not worth it to me, im at the point im looking to buy new live rock just to get rid of them. they are so much money in zoas but then again i have hundreds on just 1 rock and if ii cant control them in a 125 ill never control them in a 240. i dont wanna rely on shrimp that i had before that just die or get eaten i have eels im not sure if the eals eat them or if other shrimp or crabs eat them but i tried to own them before and no luck
