I have an Apogee PAR meter and am will test your PAR in exchange for frags of SPS. Immediate Birmingham area only, I'm off all this week. PM me if interested.

Don't have any frags to swap , but I could pay for services. I live in Hoover if that would be close enough for you?

Yeah, I live in Hoover as well. I won't be able to do anything until Monday, we can try to set something up then.

Im in the hoover area, could you send me a PM maybe of what you charge. i also dont have any frags to exchange, just getting started

I know you probably know quite a bit about PAR reading and wanted to know if you could post a basic coral PAR reading list. i know most cases are different for each tank but a basic list would help me better understand this PAR reading thing

There are a couple tables out there, but I'd have to Google to find them. 300 par is pretty much enough to keep any sps, although higher supposedly can bring out more color in certain species of acropora. Too much par can be as bad or worse than not enough. I find that if you shoot for ~100 on the sand, you can keep most anything at some part of the tank.
