Yes it was. I'm not chancing it at this point. Already ordered a different brand that fits the entire thing

Do I need to run multiple tubes to the 2 filter plates I have or is 1 each enough? There's 4 slots in each plate which I just have capped now. Running in reverse with a 350gph pump

one is enough

If....I was doing it today : Reverse Flow with 4" of this substrate :Tropic eden reeflakes -Grand Select size..I would also run some mechanical filtration before the water is pumped under the UGF plate (keep it clean)...something like this : https://www.marineandreef.com/Lifeg...MI_8PVro6i4QIVB1SGCh3I8gNjEAQYAiABEgJ63PD_BwE
Fwiw I used halvin and necktonics UGF's back in the mid 70's....back when limewood airstones were all the rage
Running a screen over the inlet of the pump to stop any large particles from making it in. Haven't purchased a skimmer yet but may in the future. I'm going to take things slow. I'd like to make this all a learning experience. My thoughts are to take things step by step and see what new technology is really needed vs what is hype or an easy work around. I'm pretty addicted to learning all the variables. I'm really intrigued by some of the people who have made their reefs survive for decades. Before most of what is sold was even invented.
