Got these from a vendor here. One of them is supposed to be a Rasta. None look like a Rasta to me and searching on the library and other zoa sites makes me think there’s no way any of these is a Rasta.

They are supposed to be Rasta, Sunny D, Tangerine and Incinerator. Pics under 30% blue and 2% white. Got some new lenses so will take better pics later.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks. Figured there were no Rastas. My iPhone filter lenses came in today so will try to take better pics and see if different lighting or anything makes things more obvious. Oh well, guess I’ll reach out to the vendor.

Vendor sent me my rastas. I had taken a photo of the order and found an old post on facebook that they had, so it was definitely wysiwyg so have no idea how they missed shipping it to me. Anyway, they sent some rastas that are in the process of opening up (not the original wysiwyg frag but definitely more of them). Unfortunately, I think they have hitchhikers in the form of aiptasia which I do not want. What's the best way to get rid of them? I recall straight need injection of kalkwasser back in the day. Just kinda annoyed now. At least I think they're aiptasia.

Is this a normal thing for sponsored vendors to send frags with aiptasia? I'm just getting back into the hobby so have no idea what's normal and what's not anymore.

No its not and would warrant a refund at most online coral vendors, shame on themf for sending a coral with so much aiptasia on it. i can see at least 3 and that is just from a picture

There were at least 6 and the vendor doesn't want to issue a refund because it had cost them more money to send out a 2nd shipment because they forgot items from the first one. They had also sent a few freebie frags (appreciated) but that doesn't make up for sending me aiptasia on a frag that I can't even keep in the tank for fear of it spreading. As a gesture of good will, I told them to just refund 50% because they did send 2 free frags but since when did 'free' mean you get to use that to not issue me a refund. If they don't come to their senses I suppose I owe the community a thread about the experience.

I wouldnt use them again just because they dont check for pests, wish you were a new yorker and i could just take the frag off you for a couple weeks and had my team or peppermint shrimp and copperband buterflyfish clean it before you put it into you tank. Getting aiptasia out from between heads of zoas is really hard, i only think biological means like the two organisms listed above or berghia nudibranchs are nice to have around in case this happens again, aiptasia is hard to avoid though.

and never is giving someone a free coral justification for sending a coral with pests be it the free coral or corals you paid for. They put your tank at risk sending corals with obvious pests on it and it is a shame on them for citing the free coral as a compensation.

Which vendor is this? so I know to avoid them. sending frags with aptasia is inexcusable
