Hello! My name is April and although I'm not brand new to the saltwater world, I am a startover. I had to start over with my 75 gallon tank. This time we are doing the "right" thing. We bought Kessil A360X Tuna Blue lights (x2) and have it on a schedule, but now my tank is growing algae and turning green/brown again. Did the lights do this? I need to see if someone can help me with the lighting schedule? Thank you.

you state you're starting over. how old is this tank? is it cycled? have you tested your water? if so, with what test kit(s)? any fish in the tank? if so, what fish/how many fish? how long are the lights on?

Algae is a normal thing when starting with dry rock. Manage parameters, bolster clean up crew including live phyto (I recommend reefcleaners.org for both) and remove excess algae by hand.

Also if not using RODI water it can make all of your issues worse and last longer.

The tank is 3 1/2 months old. I am using RODI water. My ammonia, nitrate and nitrite levels are good.
