I picked up this frag at my LPS about 6 weeks ago. The coloration caught my eye so I inquired about it. The sales person couldn't offer any information other than it had been brought in by another customer for trade. At $30.00 couldn't say no.
Other than the attached pictures, all I can offer is that the piece I have seems to come from the tip of a thick branch. In the 6 weeks it's been in my tank it has completely encrusted the plug and may be sending out the first tiny shoot on the left side in the picture. Any ideas? DSC01533.JPG DSC01534.JPG DSC01529.JPG
Yeh I know, bubble algae. Fired up a Turbo's Aquatics L-4 about 3-4 weeks ago that's doing a number on it, better as the screen matures. Most of the bubbles are clear and dying now.

The coral will change to more green then red when it has less light. Intense lighting can get you a really nice red coloration(speaking from experience).

Other than it being an Acro its hard to say so little but its looking like its going to be a nice one. Especially for 30$

Looks like a red planet ;)
The coloration is right for sure. I have a small red planet colony about 12" lower in the tank (250ish par) that's a little darker red but also has a thinner branch. This is up very high in the tank getting 550-600ish par, could have a lot to do with the lighter color.
Also has a similar color to Pro Corals Rainbow. I have no experience with the PC other than drooling over pics on the web, don't know if it's more or less thick branched.

I was thinking red planet due to the thicker branch. PC rainbow to me seems to have thinner branches and a more pinkish red color.
