Needles in Haystack Par and Plaecement

What is the recommended placement and par for needles in haystack? See picture. It appears lighter in person. Just want to make sure I am not killing it with too much light. It is about halfway up with around 400+ par.

Also, please disregard rocks. Looks like the tank is new but I just added dry rock to an established tank.

That sucks about the crash. Did yours look like mine or a darker color? Hopefully mine is just getting acclimated. I had it fresh cut about 2 weeks ago. Had it in low light for a week then placed it in its location now a couple of days ago.

Mine was a bit darker with bright tips. Give it some time.

Sub 200 par it will have a greenish grey body and bright green tips, in your 400par it will be Ferrari red with bright green tips when it’s happy. The tricky thing with needles in a haystack is flow, they don’t like any direct flow, but a lot of indirect flow.

This species (I believe possibly Acropora carduus) should thrive in medium to high lighting. Loves good consistent flow as well.
