Please do not spread lies, there is a feedback section where members can post gooror bad feedback. This is not a debatable thing, there is a forum for it. When a member starts a feedback thread we try and keep it between the vendor and the member to help keep it on topic and allow for the best chance of a resolution. Now you ARE allowed to post a link to a feedback thread that you have started but just no comments. This does allow you to give your experience with the vendor. I get that you want to believe that we are bias but it's just simply not true.
It's not a lie. Perhaps I should've expanded a bit more on my reply, but in the context of this thread, which is the feedback is biased it is true. You cannot post on negative threads without getting deleted. You can start your own negative feedback, but not if you are not an existing customer. In that case, you cannot engage. You can start a thread in general equipment, but it sometimes will get moved to vendor feedback and all comments get deleted.
Bias in the vendor feedback forums is obvious just by looking at the rules. No outside comments on negative threads, but allowed on positive. I understand the cited reason, to allow vendor and poster to come to a resolution. I'm not saying it's a bad rule, just biased and it creates consequences that are perhaps unintended.
Look at the way it works... negative threads no outside comments equals far less posts, far less time on the front page, far less negative comments for searchers to read. Positive posts turn into long threads that spend more time on top, get more views ,have more keywords to hit on searches, present more positive posts a searcher is exposed to etc etc etc.
I can see why so many dont think it's wrong, I just cant believe so many cant see the bias.
As to the poster who brought up the ecotech thread, I believe that illustrates my point. That thread remains, but other similar threads do not. Perhaps if ecotech were more involved here they would ask it be moved to vendor feedback and perhaps it would be moved. Both speculation as that woukdbe a judgement call at that time. The fact that all threads are not, cannot, be treated equally is evidence of bias, intentional or not.
I didnt mean to make all the mods and staff upset. I think I made yall defensive by suggesting bias exists. That was construed as a negative comment against your integrity, ability or motives. I surely did not mean it that way. This forum is one of the most consistently and professionally moderated forums I have been a part of. I have zero complaints with any moderation being done on r2r.
The fact that bias exists is unavoidable in a setting such has this. I only intended to show it exists, not accuse anyone of being biased intentionally or having any alterior motives.
I have demonstrated bias in several ways in my posts here. I hope I have cleared the air and shown I dont think it's any intentional conspiracy. I dont even think its necessarily wrong. I just know it exists.
With that I am now leaving this thread for real as I have nothing more to add, except to thank the moderators for their hard work. You all do a great job, but of course I'm biased, I love r2r.
