Hi! Everyone will have different methods they use that works for them. I bought all my nems from the two LFS that I regularly go too. I floated the bag for 15 minutes and put the nem in my tank. Keep in mind though I know the owners really well at both stores, and their water parameters match mine.... salinity etc. Here are pics of my nems....I have had them several years....

There are a few factors I would consider. What kind of anemone is it, does the anemone appear healthy, was it shipped or from the LFS, etc.

For me, as a general starting point, I would float the bag for 10 minutes and then slow drip for an hour at least. Also depends on how much water the anemone comes in (or how much you leave in). As a reference, if you drip for an hour at 2 drips per second you are adding about 1.5 cups to the container water.

One thing to remember is Anemones hold seawater. It is crucial they are given time to adapt to your parameters. If you are certain about the source parameters (like @cancun mentioned) and they match yours you can try floating only, but it is risky.

Floating the bag is only to match the temperature if, say, it was shipped and that is unknown. It does nothing to acclimate the Anemone to all the other involved parameters.

EDIT: I defer to Amoo’s method below. He has more expertise than I with different species.

That is a good point for the OP....what kind of nem, health, and if it was shipped. I never buy online....only from my LFS....to the OP....just to add....when you aren't sure IMO dripping would be the way to go....just to make sure you are giving the nem time to adjust to your water.

Beautiful tank btw , I also keep the same salinity as the lfs but I have no clue what there other parameters are .

It’s a bubble tip anemone , all there anemone appear to be happy . Always have bubbles except a few that don’t .

I know the whole acclimation process and how sensitive anemones are . But i just want to reassure what I am doing and how to prevent more stress

Whomever figures out the bubble tip reasoning with certainty will end up a rich person.

i float and dump... no issues yet... (I keep a dedicated nem tank with a decent number of nems... )

case in point..(missing a bunch of nems I've added since)

Holy Mc ****! Where can I get such vibrant coloured ones! We only get neutral coloured magnifica and btas in green and pink

I edited my post above. I defer to @Amoo who is more experienced than I.

Interestingly, I am receiving a shipped BTA tomorrow and I will update this thread with the method I use and the results for what it is worth.

Thanks all.

Oh, I get them here and there... :P

In all seriousness, there are a few ultra RBTAs in there, a few wilds, and a several collector's strains (Sherman, BlackWidow, AZ Sunset, etc...)...the bright green one at the bottom of pic is a local strain here around San Francisco that is affectionately known as DPV (Dolphon Pet Village) after the store here that first discovered it. If you're within the US, I can probably connect you with a few folks who might have splits or the like.

Where are you located?

BTW -- if you think the above are vibrant, wait until you see my latest find... literally glows highlighter yellow in natural sunlight, and neon lime\yellow under blues... brightest thing in my tank at the moment. :)

Not the best shot using my phone but enough to get the idea...

Bottom left corner is the nem in question...
