Hey guys, so I received a new long tentacle anemone on Thursday. I couldn’t get it to attach to anything. I dug it get out a nest area to the bottom of my tank and gently placed it in there. It moved out and for the last 2 days it’s just rolled around my tank Mostly on its side. The side that has been down since the beginning just rolled to the top and it looks like it’s got a hole In it. the mouth is also open from what I can tell. Is there anything I can do here? Should I dip it in some thing? Should I move it to my sump? Should I just leave it alone? the first 2 pics are thurs and Friday. I didn’t take any yesterday because it was just on its side under.

First, I would shut off all pumps and wave makers to let it attach somewhere, if possible. What about parameters?

+1 parameters my LTA died and I then I realized it was because my nitrates spiked

All of my parameters are fine. Salinity is 1.026. PH is 8.15. Calcium is 440. Alkalinity is 10. Nitrates are 15. Phos is .02. Mag is 1450.I just got my ICP test back yesterday because I wanted a full on test before adding this Nem. I will turn off the wave makers. Right now I have a net over him because the fish are starting to take an interest in it which probably can’t be good. My baby bra nem That has been in there for a couple months is doing fine. As are all corals and fish etc. This is a mixed reef tank, 220 gallons, it’s been running for five years But this is the first time I’ve purchased Such an expensive invert and I really tried to make sure everything was perfect before introducing him.

How did you introduce him to the tank?

I drip acclimated him In his bag for 45 minutes then removed half the water and continued drip until bag was almost full- another 30 min ish.

Are any parameters fluctuating at all? Temp, salinity, or ph?

Then I Placed a rinsed Pvs section in the bag and gently scooped him into it, held one end against my palm so he stayed underwater and placed the pvc section at the bottom of the tank where I had cleared down to the glass.

No. The tank has been up and running for years, 2 week water changes, I have two part dosing on automatic pump’s. The only thing that has fluctuated recently were my nitrate and phos when coming back from Dino’s But with water changes and some dosing I got everything balanced out and back to normal before doing the icp test and introducing this guy.

The only thing that I can think of is a possible temperature change during acclimation
