Is there a way to keep a nem with other corals in a 13.5? I’d love to get one but I can’t think of any species that won’t kill my other corals and make a good clown host.
What good alternatives to a nem besides shrooms are there?

Rock anemone. And curlique should do well

Are rock flowers safe for other corals and my fish?
I’ve seen a lot saying they can be dangerous.
And are curlicues host nems, or basically just aptasia that isn’t a PITA?

For being an anemone they have the weakest sting. They aren’t host anemones but in a 13.5 there’s really no room for a host anemone and coral

i think it depends on your aquascape and how much free space you currently have in your tank.. a issue is they always say wait 6 months for nems but by that time in a small tank almost all of your space is taken if your growing out corals as well.

i have a Waterbox Pen 15 with a pretty good size RBTA and still have space for my corals. i built pretty high up with arches and my nem sits under the arch so it works out well for my tank.

I’ve got 2 rock flowers and 2 Bali red mini carpets in my evo with 3 fish. Once they find the place they like (usually a little nook) they stay. One of my rock flowers is a loner and has been under a rock for over a month. Little but alive.

Tanks almost a year old
Not much open sand space (pic taken at night):

Like i think you can try it issue is they will never stay where you place them. you can start off by buying a small one thats barely 1-3 inches big once it settles down after a few days you can start to relocate some stuff in the area to make room for its growth.
