Exaiptasia pallida, once known as Aiptasia pallida, is found in the western Atlantic from Maine to the Caribbean and is sometimes said to be the quintessential pest Aiptasia species in aquaria. That being said, OP's polyp looks much more like those of the hitchhiker coral Cladocora arbuscula:If it's from the gulf it's not aptasia
Ball anemones (Pseudocorynactis caribbeorum) have transparent tentacles with opaque tips while the hitchhiker has glittery tentacles. Perhaps it hasn't grown much of a skeleton yet.LiveRocks said cup coral, but I do not see any skeletal structure. I am thinking Ball Nem.
