I have a fully established tank. Set up almost going on 2 years. I put a beautiful rbta and a long tentacle in my tank. They thrived and were big and amazing.

However. Lately. They have shrunk. Moved. And well look awful.
Water quality is good. Do weekly water changes. I have great flow in the tank. All my softies, LPS , and SPS ARE THRIVING.

I run a custom led fixture. With blues (40) neutral whites (20) limes (8) and uv (4). They run off a storm controller. The blues and whites are even at about 60%. The lines are at about 40%. And UV's are at 35%.

What can I change? Add? Or supplement t5.

I have 6 very lonely clowns due to this.

Any advice would be amazing.

Ph 8.2
Ammonia 0ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 0.2
Cal 400
Alk 10
Mag 1300

I run a huge sump with fern That grows like crazy.
I use chemi pure also.
I dose calcium , alka , and aqua Vito fuel.

Honestly, I have kept RBTA in three systems with leds long term. Reefbrite, cheap Chinese box, and some aquatic life clearance deals but in fairness I have 4 of them over a 125. There may be a different culprit?

For what it is worth my RBTA do best when I go through bouts of less water changes and no dosing because I jump back to my other expensive hobby (cars). Happens for a few months at a time sometimes approaching 6!

Happens less often now but with new babies and such it's easy to refocus.

Maybe [HASHTAG]#reefsquad[/HASHTAG] can help

I am keeping a LTA under a hydra 26 and it is doing well.

Wonder if something else isn't off somewhere. Any stray voltage?

I wish I could figure it out. There isn't any stray voltage. The only think I can think of is the leds themselves. Maybe I do t have blues turned up enough. Or the whites. I just don't know. It's very heart breaking to not know. And see them suffer and shrink.

Something has to have changed to upset them.
What changed?

The only recent change I have done is upgraded my flow in the tank with a gyre maxspect.

I haven't raised the intensity of the lights in awhile.

For clarification purposes, how long ago were the nems added? And what was the time frame of them being in the tank and you adding the Gyre? My guess would be they have not found a "comfortable" spot related to the new flow, as saltyfilmfolks pointed out.
