Please any help

it's normal, sometimes mine nems shrivel for a day or 2 and goes back to normal after a few days. Just keep an eye on the mouth.

Can you get a full tank shot and give us more info on your tank, how long you've had the btas, water parameters? water flow? lighting?

What is that lps on the right in the second picture?

Will get some pics in a bit when lights come on

There Are two clowns
One kole tang

About 8 to 10 rbtas

Tanks came from a 54 corner I had I broke down the set up this tank keep all rock

New tank is
105
40 gallon ish sump with 2 socks
Avast skimmer
Jabeo return pump 8000 set to middle setting
Bag of carbon in sump
2 200 watt heaters controlled by apex
Fuge area full of rock
Two ocean revive leds
Been a water change ever week about 10-13 gallons

Been running for about 5 months
Nem have been good for a while

had water tested
Found all is good but had 0.25 ammonia so trying to deal with that today

What's the best way

Did you ever cycle the new tank or just complete transfer from the old tank? Did you add more lr or dry rock for the new tank?

I would clean and replace or completely remove the filter socks (using them only temporarily, such as when stirring up particulates, etc.). Make sure your pumps are clean with good flow around the tank/ liverock and address any detritus build up in the tank area/ areas of the sump that are not refuge. Also change out the carbon if not fresh and clean the skimmer if it has not been done in awhile to make sure it is pulling what it can.

How much do you feed/ how often? feed the btas?

You have a relatively small bioload for a large tank and my guess for the ammonia (if nothing as died recently) would be overfeeding and the new tank did not undergo a real cycle/ did not have the ability to consume the nutrients being added.

Let me try and answer all these questions

I did complete transfer tore down the old tank let everything live in rubbermaid storage bins (2 or 3 days) till the tank was fully Plumbed. Used the old sand (old tank was only setup for 2 months )

Had new tank setup transferred most the water and all rock and added more dry rock

I feed btas ever three days and the rbtas have been in tank about one month

I also rince out the filter sock ever wed paired with the water change

What does your clean up crew consist of?

What/how much do feed the bta's every three days? Broadcast or target?

What do you have for flow in the tank other than the return from the sump?

not much of a clean up crew
Two or three hermit crabs I need to order more.

I target feed the nems and give some scraps pieces to the fish

I feed LRS chunky

And no other wave pumps

Then you need to get a clean up crew to eat anything that falls out of the fish or anemones so that food does not go to a corner/ into the rocks and rot leading to an ammonia spike. I would also get some water flow around the back wall and through the rocks as well to prevent settling.

I would also alternate feeding of the nems, like say do half then a couple days do the other half, so that they are not fed all at once then all at once expelling waste into the water column.

What do y'all recommend for a clean up crew in a nem tank the Lfs was like nem with eat the clean up crew

Looking at ordering wavepumps now

They will not eat your clean up crew. Carpets may eat snails that fall in them, but not common.

I have mostly ceriths and trochus snails along with hitchhikers like stomatellas, bristleworms, etc.

What kind of hermit crabs do you have?

Not to sure was given them I need to get rid on one it's huge

Tanks looking better. Still two nems not looking to good but ammonia has dropped to 0

Can you post pic(s) of the hermits? If they are too big/ are aggressive, they will likely kill any snails or other clean up crew members.

As far as the nems, watch the parameters and keep them stable. I would hold off feeding for awhile until after they go back to being normal for several days.

Looks to me like a combination of a mini cycle caused by using the same sand bed in a tank transfer and adding new rock, which is common and the fact that the nems are not thrilled yet with the new lighting/flow situation as compared to their old home.
