So confused by Brightwell Aquatics Neo Nitro dosing. Anyone using this product that can help me figure out exact ml dosing?

So confused by Brightwell Aquatics Neo Nitro dosing. Anyone using this product that can help me figure out exact ml dosing?

I dose it hourly and the instructions are kinda janky. What you need to do is dose up to a healthy number such as 6ppm. You probably will have to dose quite a bit more than the instructions state. Basically dose the suggest amount, wait an hour, test, repeat if necessary. Once you get a good starting number, stop dosing and measure the level again in 24 and 48 hours. This will give you a good idea of your starting dose based on daily consumption.

So say you start and undetectable and dose 30ml to hit 6ppm. After 24h your at 5ppm and at 48h you’re at 4ppm. That means your tank is currently consuming an average of 1ppm per day which based on the loading dose is ~10ml.

Keep in mind the dosage will change over time (weeks/months).

OK so let me ask you this. Right now my nitrates are at zero. I have 165 gallon tank trying to get up to five or 10 PPM. What would be the dosing

You do not want to overshoot so I personally would take it easy with several small doses such as 100ml. All said and done I’ll SWAG the final number as 400ml to load with a daily consumption of 75ml. You really need to test for yourself though. Depending on amount and type of coral there can be big differences. One of my tanks only pulls down about .5ppm a day. I have another that pulls down over 5.

What about 75ml a day for an 165 tank and measure from there

I have to admit that the dosing is extremely Jenkee. I was putting in 10 ML a day, expecting some sort of a extremel result. Lol

I had to double dose neonitro for several months to get measurable numbers so about 15ml daily in an 80g system. Make sure you feed your fish more and export less with skimmer by dry skimming.

10ml even by their numbers would only raise it >0.01. Just dose hourly until you get to 5ppm then check it in 24 hours. Nitrate and phosphorus consumption varies a ton system to system.
