Neomeris Annulata Reboot Only Option?

I have been fighting a never winning battle with neo ann and think i have reached the point a reboot is the only way. I am pretty sure this came from a barrel of cooked live rock i got with my 120gal fat boy when i upgraded moving into my new house. Rock was bare at startup but by the time i knew what was in my tank i was unable to stop it. Ive tried manual removal but to no avail it just keeps coming back. i have googled this to death and ironicly there isnt a wide range of posts or info on this aside from a few stating it just went away and others saying reboot but most dead end and no story on what became of their neo ann issue.

So if anyone has information on an alternative im willing to listen but i fear a reboot is what it will take. That said, i have read about muranic acid, bleech, and air dry completely but not sure what reboot option is best. First and foremost i think we can all agree this is not a process one wants to repeat so i want to be certain neo ann gets the pink slip.

One alternative i thought up was what if you spiked the tank with kalk powder (enhabitants removed of course) to nuke it?

Need some opinions to decide on a path to take from here

Neomeris Annulata, macro algae, supposedly its a slow grower and may require calcium supplementation. Got a picture of it in the tank?

like you I had this on piece of live rock, showed up after about a month, about 15-20 sprouts to start with. I thought it looked great and left it, it soon spread to a nearby rock (now about 50 sprouts in total) so I started my research (note to self : MUST research new things straight away!)..... after seeing the horror stories of it like you i tried to kill it, pulled sprouts out, rasped its footholds, dipped it.....I wanted to keep the rock, it was a great shape, so in the end i pulled the rock out and soaked it in 50/50 mix of RODI water and 3% H2O2 for a week... that killed it all... infact killed everything on the rock back to bare white dead rock. 6 months later, it's never come back.

Ug. You have other tanks? Seems like it would be an acid bath and re cycle or algaecide and scrub/rasp and then wait.
the vibrant thing is pretty amazing, but I think it would take a bit on tough plant. I pers wouldnt try to clear up a mess like Rick45 posted with fish n coral in the tank unless I really had to..

I have a 75 gal im plannin to transfer to for the reboot, just not sure what to cycle in system to remove from pipes and fish room tanks for fuge sump and such

Rebooting really depends on your patience vs. the hassle of rebooting.
It is an algae and it is always possible to strip its food source to get rid of it. Rebooting is arguably faster than battling nutrients, though.

Also, if you struggle to keep nutrients in check now, chances are you going to have algae issues again.
Assuming your rodi water reads zero TDS, you could try aluminium oxide, which is a powerful fosfate absorber.
Then, organic carbon dosing to keep both no3 and po4 at low levels.
It is cheap, effective and long term solution.

This particular algae doesnt work that way, it cannot be starved out, no natural predators, its ideal environment is sps tank param
