Hello,

I have a Neon toad stool that is not opening, my water is on point
When I got the coral I dipped it in Iodine for few minutes
It was fully opened at the store and was about 5 inches, I have tried it in many different parts of the tank every week or so
its shows some polyps coming out but never fully opens, stays about 2-3 inches.
please share your onions or experience on how i can make it open.

Thank you in advance

All you can do is give it time. Well you can keep moving it around and playing but they will typically adapt to various conditions. As long as it's getting some flow and has decent lighting it should be fine in the long run. Toadstools are very easy to keep but can often be finicky. It's not uncommon for them to close up for days / weeks / even months occasionally.

Also wanted to know if I can dip my toadstool in a 50/50 hydrogen peroxide tank water mix for 1 minute, I have read that this might help, anyone tried this?

Not trying to kill anything on it, I was thinking maybe in transport the tissue might have been damages and might help repair it. I read it somewhere, dont know much about Hydrogen Peroxide use with corals

Toadstools are just babies. They will come out when want to. They just need some flow and light and all will be good. Do not keep dipping it IMO you are just making it more upset. Put it in the tank, leave it be and it will open when happy.

Now, if you see any black areas, that is not good as it is necrosis. However, these guys are hearty and just need to be left alone.

I had mine close for over three months cuz I was doing lots in the tank. Still fine after 14 years. Leathers are a bit weird, but the will be a good sign of something off in the aquarium after they settle.

I have one that gets temperamental now and then. It will go for months all happy, shrivel up for a week or so and shed and come back bigger. Mine currently is just starting to come out again after about a month. I was about to take it out thinking it was dead but it was still firm and not melting. Just given them time.
