Anyone else get weird readings from their Hanna checker once they dose NeoNitro? I quit dosing for a few days and my nitrates read 1.5ppm. I dosed this morning and now they are reading 69.8 on my Hanna checker. The dose was 4 hours ago so I thought it wouldn't mess with the Hanna checker. I heard nitrite messes with the Hanna checker, so does NeoNitro change to nitrite or something?

Also, there is no way my nitrates are that high, and my tank is established, so it's not a nitrite spike. My acros would have browned out before then, and I would have had to dose a ton of NeoNitro to get to 69.8, lol.

It could also be a bad batch of reagent. I'm at a loss...

If you didn't just feed that's weird. Also make sure there's nothing on your fingers while messing with the sample. Mine always reads fine but I usually test the next day

I tried to use a dropper too. I also soaked the bottles in RO water for 30 minutes. There are some particulates in my water, but they wouldn't make my nitrate test do that...

I dose 2.5ppm nitrates daily on a 240 gal, and all of a sudden, the nitrates went from 1.5 to 69.8ppm in a week. Tested again the next day, 68.9ppm. Tested the third day and it read 1.7ppm.

That's weird. Where now and then I get an off reading and when I retest it reads what I thought it should

Yeah, it has been making me pull my hair out. I've never had a problem before this box, so I'm thinking it could also be the reagent. It makes me second guess, though. Wouldn't my acros be dark with 70ppm nitrate?

There's people that run 70 plus that have awesome acros..kind of tank to tank. I'm usually around 20 but 70 isn't a deal breaker.
