Neophos Dosing 10 gallon nuvo

Hi all,
I’m going to be dosing my nuvo 10 gallon today. Currently my phosphate is a little too low for my liking.

currently at .02
My corals are slight affected by the change. The instructions are a bit confusing though. What would you guys recommend i dose to reach my desire level of .07-.08

1ml will raise it by 1.2ppm in 1 gallon. 10 ml raises it by 1.2ppm in your tank. Therefore, 1ml raises it by 0.12ppm, 0.5ml by 0.06, .25ml by 0.03, etc.

I use it in my tank. It is super concentrated.

0.5ml will raise it by 0.06ppm, so in your case that would be 0.08ppm.


As @LuizW13 mentioned, you might want to make it slightly less to account for rocks and what not.

I see! So the first two days i used it… i dosed 4 mil each day. I stopped once i read this.

today i checked it and it’s at .10

for my tank I’m seeing every 1 mil is like adding .01 to my phosphate.

Something odd happen. Checked phosphate yesterday and read .02 again. In a four day span… it went from .10 to .02

i don’t even have corals in there. Since i figured out it takes .01 mills to bump it up by .01….. i wonder if I’m going to have to dose neophos everyday. Thoughts?

Feeding more just isn’t doing it. It’s actually increasing my nitrates as well.

Is it 1.2ppm or 0.26ppm? The calculation on the bottle is:

Gallons x PPM x 3.785 = ml

1 x 0.26 x 3.785 = 0.98 ml

So into 10 Gallons of water, 1ml would raise phosphate by 0.026ppm. Not too far off of what is being seen in the tank.

This is a great sign!! Your corals are absorbing the Po4. Keep dosing everyday and make sure you check daily. Once your tank gets saturated you will need to back off and monitor once every 2-3 days. You wil start to see more colors in your coral. Make sure you have an appropriate clean up crew ready. I also target for .08-.10 and i use 2 snails per gallon to keep up. To answer you question. Yes NeoPhos is dosed almost everyday until saturation point, then its once every 3-4 days. Try to not let your Po4 drop below .05 since the checkers can only be so accurate.

EDIT: The Concentration changed. The bottle I have is before they diluted it. Check to make sure yours says 0.26 instead of 1.2ppm like mine.

Brightwell neophos changed concentration!

Beware Brightwell neophos has changed its concentration. My last bottle from last month said 1 ml will raise 1 us gallon by 1.2ppm which is a large amount so I was only dosing 5-10 ml to bump up my p04 to where I need it. I got a new bottle and didn’t think anything of it and was dosing and I...

That’s the thing. I don’t have coral in there.
