Hey Guys

Can you mix Neoplex with General Cure ?
Had an Achilles Tang in copper but it seems to have developed a bacterial infection.
I took it out of copper (only after 4 days of copper ) ,diped it in hydroplex for 6-7min and transferd it to a sterile tank.

I dosed the new tank with Neoplex ( only antibiotics I got) , I do have general cure as well . Can I dose General Cure with Neoplex ?

other medication i got are :
ICH-X
Ruby Reef Rally (no expiration date on the bottles)
Melafix

Thanks in advance

All the white patches he had are gone over night but still not looking 100%.
He's head look deflated as well.

nvm found this

Prazipro (praziquantel): Treats flukes, black ich, and some internal parasites (worms).

How To Treat - In either a quarantine or display tank, dose Prazipro at the rate of 1 teaspoon per 20 gallons of water. DO NOT OVERDOSE (especially with wrasses), try not to mix with other medications (for various reasons),

Is there any risk if I mix Neoplex with API general Cure ? ( what I quoted above seem to be for Prazipro only)

My Achilles which had bacterial infection seem to be doing better, but I noticed its infected with flukes... I did a 6min Fresh water dip and most of theme came off... even with a white bucket it was easy to see do the number flukes it was carrying.

There's always a risk when using any treatment. And the risk increases when mixing medications.

The big problem with PraziPro is the chemical used to keep the praziquantel in solution, Oxybispropano, grabs oxygen out of the water column quite severely.

General Cure since it is a powdered mix of metro + praziquantel does not have Oxybis, so there's not the problem with the O2 depletion.

Neoplex is a wide spectrum antibiotic that works pretty good.

@Big G Thank you for the reply
He seems less lethargic and more active , not sure if it was the fresh water bath or General cure.

this is my dilemma I face when using copper, Fish (PBT,Achilles Butterflies) gets either a Bacterial infection or fluke infestation...

Copper power , i try to reach 2ppm
Many of us have been using Spectrogram for new fish when dosing copper to ward off bacterial infections.

Hi @Big G

The Achilles is still doing "ok" but wont eat. I am not sure if it normal after a fluke infestation.
I tried flooding the tank with shredded nori, mysis and a DIY food I had (all soaked in garlic) : no luck

It will be in General cure + Neoplex for 48h but tomorow, was wandering if I should Just do a 100% wc or transfer it to a sterile tank...

Wide spectrum antibiotics like Neoplex often need 10-14 days to work. Antibiotics are very slow acting on fish. And if no improvement, most would try a different antibiotic. NFG powder is awesome. Cirpro works really well but it is a bath for 1 hour.
