I have a reefer 350 that is about 3 inches from my wall and filled. I just purchased the Apex AFS auto feeder. Unfortunately I didn't realize I needed more clearance behind my tank to mount it. I would prefer not to mount it to the sides of the tank. Is there a custom mount out there that lets me mount the device a little bit more forward than the stock mount? I need about another half inch of space to be able to fit the cable and the unit on the back wall. Thanks for the help. Can post pics if it would be helpful

I would think you can add a spacer block between the tank and the mount wall that hangs down into the tank. This would move the unit more into the tank. Just make sure it’s still stable and can’t fall off and specially into the water.

Also here is a cool sump mounted feeder that I’ve thought about doing but haven’t tried it myself.

This will allow me to mount it more forward in the tank? I only need about half an inch
If u email him and tell him what u need he will make it for u
He is a pleasure to work with

I’m so glad you posted this - I’ve got a 525XL that I’m putting “in cabinet” and in all my measuring considerations I hadn’t even thought about the AFS.

One can also order 90 degree cables that reduce the clearance needed.

I have a coast to coast overflow and couldn't get my pellets to sink before going down the drain. My solution was to tee off the inlet of my return pump. My AFS is mounted at the top and my return pump pushes the food out my returns and quickly distributes the food throughout my tank.
