Good afternoon reefers,

There might be a thread on the forum about how to connect the MP10 & MP40 to my new Neptune Apex but I just have a few questions. I did try to reach out to Neptune and they sent me the instructions. I also found how to connect them on YouTube but all does not answer this question...of course, I have many questions: Do I plug the VorTech’s into the Apex controller energy bar 832 outlet or plug them into the wall outlet? Also, does the energy bar 832 outlet have a built in surge protector?

Thanks for your input

To fully control the EcoTech pumps with an Apex, you need to add a WXM module. With it, you can control the pumps' flow speed and pattern wirelessly through the Apex. You can plug the pump power cords into the EB832 if you want, but this will only provide redundant on/off programming functionality. Many people therefore plug them into a separate power strip, wall outlet, UPS or other battery backup device. The EB provides no surge protection on its own.

Just like the above post. You need the apex wxm module to be able to control the speeds and settings through the apex interface. With out the module all you can do is turn them on and off when the are plugged into the eb832.

Thank Guys, I do have the WXM module but just have not set everything up yet. Just needed to understand where to plug the power cables into. I should post pictures of the tank...maybe I will in a little bit.

The power cords for the mp10/40 can be plugged into a normal outlet. They do not need to be in an apex outlet if you are you going to use the wxm with them.
