Neptune Apex salinity probe, and ph probe not reading correctly.

I bought a used apex with all of the probes for used from my lfs. They have been setup for about a week but they are giving off wrong readings. The salt probe is saying its 37.7, and ph 7.8. My refractometer says the water is 1.025 and ph of 8.2. I bought calibration solutions and it was no use as it just went back to the same reading. Does anyone have any experience with these?

I had the same exact same issue, I gave up on that point of sale. My PH is 7.95 and its showing 5.78.

Salinity probe never worked new from the box.
 
I know they suggest purchasing new probes when you buy a used apex from what I have heard.
 
For the salinity probe, make sure there are no air bubbles inside the probe. Fully submerge it under water and tip it upside down so any bubbles can escape.

For the pH probe, was it dry when you received it? The pH and ORP probes must be stored wet otherwise they are ruined and need to be replaced. I’ve heard similar stories / recommendations that if you’re buying used just assume that you need to replace the probes unless you’re sure that the seller stored the probes properly.

My lfs stored the probes in there system before they sold them to me. I put them in tap water until my tank was ready

Rinse PH in RO and calibrate. For salinity, Mine is mounted at an angle to allow air bubbles to escape as SuncrestReef suggested.

My lfs stored them in their water for 3 days until I bought them. They were dry for a few hours until I put them in tap water. Would a few hours of dry time ruin it?

The temp probe must be at the temp of the cal solution.

There's an advanced tab next to the basic, which changes to manual calibration. Set the temp % to 2.2 , or 2.0 or 2.1 before calibration.
Float the cal solution in your tank to bring to tank temperature for best results.
