My apex updated its software yesterday and the FFM module did an update as well. Since then my flow meter dropped from 156 gph to 113 gph without changing anything physically. Anyone else get an update? My other apex on my second tank did not do an update and it’s running a FFM too. It’s the same apex unit (EL) though it’s actually a few months older and has not done an update since new.

My apex on my other tank updated and did the module update as well. The exact same thing happened. My flow meter that was running at 150gph is now reporting 116gph. I wonder is this a bug, or they fixed a previous bug and the new reported flow is the correct reading?

Did my Apex update earlier today - also with the FMM update.

I just noticed that my configurations for all of my programmed devices (heater, chiller, lights, pumps, etc.,) are all blank! Everything seems to be working as expected so it may just be that it is not being displayed on the web page - but it does worry me...

I have an email into Neptune support so I'll wait to hear what they suggest...

My configuration for my T5’s are still there but the program for the outer lights is incomplete. The program for the inner bulbs is fine. Everything is working fine and the T5’s turned off when they should, but the outer bulbs program says it’s still at 40%. The odd thing is that the VDM module did not do an update.

Still nothing showing in any of my config screens, but, I just watched my scheduled feeding "dance". The lights changed intensity, return pump slows, wave pumps pause and the feeder turns one rotation and 3 minutes later everything's back. Worked correctly at the correct time. I am feeling less urgent now.

Hopefully, it will be a simple/quick fix.

A sudden discovery ...

It seems to be browser related for me... Just accessed my Apex from a Chrome browser on the same PC and everything is there. My MS Edge browser is still showing empty config screens...

I'll update my email to the Neptune folks...

I feel like the FFM issues are related to all the new sensors they just released and updating the software for them. Why it changed the flow meters reported flow rate by 35% is baffling.

On my earlier issue, just exiting my Edge browser window and opening a new one has fixed my conf display trouble...

I have a single flow meter for a carbon media canister. It was showing a range from 78 to 81 GPH before the update and is now showing 70 to 78... A bit of a drop...

Wow now I need to check on this. I’ve been having fmm issues this week with trying to configure an older optical sensor for my skimmate. And all of a sudden the optical sensor isn’t even configured and resettled that port as if nothing was ever there

My UV flow meter dropped 100gph after updating. I went on the Neptune forums and the release notes said you need to physically disconnect the FMM for 5 seconds then plug it back in.

When I did this my flow went back to exactly where it was pre-update.

Thanks for the info!!

Same -- I had my flow rate into my sterilizer drop from ~320 to ~240 gph after the recent update. On my frag tank's apex (which received the update a bit earlier), I got all my gear cleared out in the interface (though this did not happen on the display).

I did as @David_CO said, and it's back to normal. Sure would have been nice to get a notification on the app when I did the upgrade :upside-down-face:.

Thanks! I had an update last night and my flow dropped by 65…I didn’t know what was up. I just did as you suggested and ta dahhhh! Back to normal. Whew!

Hmm.. Could that be why this is happening?

I had this exact problem with an earlier update. The little secret that Neptune isn't telling anyone is that the MicroSD card in the controller unit becomes corrupt while flashing, causing the symptoms you describe.

The fix is to wait for Neptune's tech support to respond at a glacial pace and then tell you to swap out units, or simply open the unit and install a new 16g flash card. It's easy enough to do, but you'll have to reprogram all your settings.

Look on YouTube for a video. The one thing the presenter neglected to explain is that the card is locked in place by a 'hatch' that flips up to release it, and you need to slide the card away from the outer casing towards the large IC chip.

Feel free to PM if you get stuck.
