I have been running my Apex offline for the last 8 months. Whenever I need to adjust something, I pull out a 100' Ethernet cable and make the connection. Today I purchased a Netgear WNCE3001 adapter. I powered it up, made the connection using the WPS button on the adapter and the router. I then plugged the included Ethernet cable into my apex. Now that everything is hooked up, I tried logging into Fusion and it says Apex Disconnected. Any tips or possible steps i missed?

Is the Apex DHCP or static? How do you know the Netgear WNCE3001 adapter is configured correctly?

Also you might have to reboot the apex (disconnect wait 30 second and reconnect the power to the apex base)

Not sure what you mean with dhcp or static. I typed in my iP address on my computer to see what was connected to my router. it says the netgear adapter is connected and working

Do you have a laptop you can plug into the adapter and make sure it is connected to your router? I would suggest disabling wireless on the laptop just to make sure.

I'll try that. I'm not very tech savvy so it may take a while to figure out how to turn off built in wifi lol

There should be a switch on the laptop that will turn it on and off. Otherwise you have have to press the Function "FN" key and find the key associated with wifi.

was able to disconnect the laptop wifi and hook up the netgear adapter. Internet connection is working. I removed the adapter, plugged it back into the Apex and still disconnected

by default the Apex uses DHCP. It does not look like you have changed that. Just do a power cycle for the apex ....
To make sure the netgear device is working properly, hook up a laptop like pelphrey suggested.

I don't now that it will make a difference, but I would suggest plugging the network cable into the Apex before the power cycle. This way it will know to grab a valid IP address.

Just unplugged and replugged both EB8s to do a reboot. will check out fusion again in a few minutes

What does the apex display show for the ip address of the apex? Can you ping that ip address from your laptop which is behind the same router? If you can, can you type that ip address, of the Apex, to a browser and see the dash board?

IP address on Apex is different from my routers IP address. If i enter the Apex IP address is my laptop, it prompts me for username and password. I tried my login for Fusion and thats not working

ok, i was able to find the username and password for my Apex on the display. I entered the Apex IP address on the laptop and was able to log in. On the top left corner it says "Apex Fusion Communication Error" It looks like the apex is hooked up to the internet, but not fusion?

Isn't there an apex setting to turn fusion on? I am no expert but looks like you're waiting for an answer so hopefully if you look through your settings you'll see it .

I've logged onto fusion before. most recently about a week ago to update run time for my halides. I never had to do anything other than plug the ethernet cable in

This means the web server inside Apex is working but it has trouble reaching Fusion.
If you have port forwarding setup then it would be much easier to narrow it down to Fusion or your setup. What firmware version are you running on the Apex?

Neptune had four different companies making their internal cards. The first batch were bad, they no longer use that company. My Apex didn't have a card from the first comany but still had issues with no connectivity and wouldn't update. I had a lot of calls to Neptune, they ended up replacing the Apex with one that had a newer card.
