Is anyone using their ATK system and replacing the PMUP with a DOS head?

For one, I don't like the siphoning possibilities with the PMUP and the fact that you need a anti-siphon valve to operate. Secondly, I will be running a very narrow ATO reservoir (about 3" wide) and the profile of the pump may be prohibitive.

Has anyone done this and is the coding for this difficult? I haven't gotten around to setting up the tank or ATO yet, but was just doing the planning. I really liked my Avast Marine ATO system with the peristaltic pump, but if I can use one of the DOS heads that will be idle anyway and build on the system, that would be ideal.

To me this seems straight forward but I haven't been able to find anyone else doing this. It seems all of the threads are AWC related.

Thanks!

Good question

I am running a DOS for my auto water change and have my ATO separate and I different brand:)

Very good question, I have the ATK and used a toms aqualifter with no problems for a short period of time before switching back to the pmup. I don’t have a DOS but programming was easy with the aqualifter. Following along as I considered getting a DOS for my kalkwasser which would leave me an opening

Here is my DOS code using regular float valves. My solution was to use the wizard to get tdata for about 2x my max daily evaporation, then have it shut off if any floats open up. I don't know if it helps with the ATK, but maybe it will give you an idea.
Fallback OFF
tdata 00:00:00,1,18,6,2,2,148,130,6,62,2,28,11,0
If ATO OPEN Then OFF
If ATOE OPEN Then OFF
Min Time 030:00 Then OFF

Yes that’s what I would expect coding too look like, how long have you done this? Any issues?

I’d have to search my old posts for an accurate time, but probably over a year. I haven’t had any issues at all.

Sounds like this should work great! Thanks to everyone that's contributed, I think this is something that I'm going to do.
