Neptune atk

I have neptune atk system but dont have enough room to run it with the float. I know you can but have any of you done this and if so any over flow problems?

How much room do you need to use it? I had to chop about an inch of the float to fit it in my biocubes 3rd chamber.

I do not use the float valve at all and haven't in probably 4 months.

I run mine without the float with no issue for about 2 years.

I took the float off the magnet and attached it separately to a mount in my rsr sump. The top and bottom sensors work great separately, but I like having the mechanical emergency shut off just in case.

I disconnected the hose from the valve all together because I started using kalkwasser in my top off water. And the kalkwasser covers the sensors with precipitation REALLY quickly because they are so close to the valve. The the ATK stops working all together. It stops topping off. So I put the hose in a holder on the other side of the sump away from the ATK sensors.

The issue is more with the tubes from the pump to the outputs. There in the shap of a Y just not enough room for the float and them to fit. I have nuvo 20

I switched the float with the factory Red Sea Reefer 250 and I am able to fit into the return chamber

Years and years ago I had a failure with my tunze osmolitor ATO after it had been in use for nearly two years. The float valve saved me.

I’d at least install a second sensor of some kind or ensure that your ATO reservoir isn’t bigger than a few gallons.

I have a nuvo 20 with The Neptune ATK and I’m using the float. I just swapped out the stock return tubing with new tubing that was slightly longer and routed it over the ATK and float.
