I’m wondering what everyone’s opinion on the cor-15 is. I currently have a sicce syncra silent 3.0 running at minimum speed. I would like the cor just for the connectivity and I hear it’s very quite but I’m not sure if it’s lasts long term. I know the sicce is pretty good. Thanks!

Sicce are quality pumps. There are a lot of pumps on the market across many price points. You are asking about the Cor 15 and owners opinion and/or experience, correct? If so:

I run 3 Cor pumps. 1 x Cor 20 return, 1 x Cor 15 return, and 1 x Cor 15 skimmer. I went with the same manufacture because I wanted to be able to hot swap should one fail. I can always take the skimmer offline. They all use the same fittings at the output so this makes it really easy.

Cor 15 and 20 are running return lines. Redundancy. The 20 is on the longest plumbing line and both connect up to 1" sea swirls. All plumbing is 1". Hard plumbing. Looking at it now I should have went with 1.25" plumbing and reduced down at the Sea Swirl for better performance. I also think that is the recommended size anyway. I already had everything plumbed so it is what it is.

With regards to noise I do not notice it and the display is in my office where I work daily. I do hear a slight hum when they are dirty and clogged up with Strombus snails. I'll take one off line, make a bucket of citric acid, and let it soak for a couple hours. Brush it, rinse it, put back together and it is fine. I think to make it super quiet then using 1 or 2" of silicon tubing before hard plumbing is idea or so I've heard.

Longevity - I've owned them all since launch to general public. Maybe a month after due to availability. I've had no issues with the pump - any of them. They are heavy, well built, and work for me.

I’m not too sure how to plumb it to be honest. The sicce is very easy, the tube I use is just a flexible one that came with my water box. Thank you for this, it helps me a lot! I think I will get it cause I’ve wanted it for a while. Also how did you do your backup pump? I also want to do that but not too sure how

I have three Cor 20s for the past 2 years. Two are returns and one is on my skimmer. The skimmer Cor spent most of its life as a Cor 15 before I converted it. I have had 1 power source go out. All 3 are quiet.

Happy to hear their good pumps

Two lines, separate. One return pump feeds a sea swirl on the left side of the tank using its own plumbing. Second return pump feeds another sea swirl on the right side. Again on its own plumbing line. Skimmers pump again is separate.

Only drawback is that I have less sump space due to the two return pumps. Not a huge deal but something to know before going in. Another option I have deployed previously is to use a single return pump but keep a spare. Spares are a good idea for several key parts in our systems be a return pump, heater, module, etc.

Very true about keeping spares for as much as you can. I’ll have to look into adding a backup return, more for if I’m ever on vacation and one decides to fail. Just would be nice for peace of mind
