Neptune Cor 20 pump

Quick question, does anyone run their cor 20 or similar DC pump externally? I'm setting up a new tank and sump and was wondering if maybe it would bring down the water temperature a few degrees by running the pump externally vs internally. Any other benefits with running either way? Thanks!!

I'm running the Cor 20, but have it installed in my sump (internally)... I can say that beings it's a DC pump, it definitely runs a lot cooler than an AC pump. Considered running mine externally, figured I'd try internally first and glad I did so.
