Overall I really like the DOS, it is much more consistent than the Bubble Magus doser I was using before. But I've been getting air bubbles in the lines causing some issues with inconstancy. I'm going to use some silicone to seal around the airline connection into my Alk and Ca containers to help prevent air leaks.

But should I also be using airline check valves? My dosing containers are on the floor, the DOS is about 5 feet above them on a shelf.

Couldn't find much info by searching on check valves. My concern is will the check valves gunk up with Alk and Ca buildup and either clog the line completely or just cause the check valve to be stuck open.

Thanks for any advice,

Justin

I've owned the DOS pumps since the first release. My pumps are about 1 foot above my holding tanks and have never felt a need to a add one way check valves but I don't see any hurt in adding them either.

Last summer my lines became more brittle over time so I re-ran new lines to stop bubbles coming up from the holding tanks and to stop bubbles where the tubing attaches to the pumps. I don't think the chemicals caused the air bubbles but the old lines just lost their elasticity over time.
