Neptune DOS/DDR. Few small air bubbles. Okay?

Using the DOS & DDR for the very first time to dose calcium. Primed it yesterday and verified no air bubbles. Today morning I see a few small ones along the tube. Is this okay? If not, what do I need to do?

There does not seem to be any air bubbles from the DDR to DOS. The air bubble start when leaving the DOS. Today, I am not seeing any.

I opened a ticket with Neptune and they provided a bunch of troubleshooting tips. I'll try it if I see it again. Below is what they told me to try in case anyone is having the same issue.

"This could be coming from the DDR or the DOS headcaps, so we will start with the DDR testing and if air bubble are still present then we will trouble shoot the headcaps.

First, to confirm the tubing is fully seated in the push-fit fittings? When you insert the tubing into the push-fit fitting, some increased resistance should be felt when about 10mm of tubing has been inserted (this is when it hits the o-ring inside the fitting); a little twisting of the tubing may be needed to get the end of the tubing through the o-ring. After the tubing gets through the o-ring, it should bottom out after an additional 5-6mm have been inserted.

Remove and insert the tubing from both push-fit fittings, and compare the two. Do you feel any difference? Any difference between the two?

Try using a small flashlight and inspect and compare the inside of both the push-fit fittings, and report any differences you can see. In particular, see if the o-ring is missing or improperly positioned in the left push-fit fitting.

If that all checks out lets remove the tubing from the DDR fittings and place the tubing fully submerged in the DDR cylinders and run the DOS to see if this resolves the prime issue? "

Unless you have major air pockets I wouldn't worry. That small amount of air shouldn't effect your dosing amount that much. It takes some time for new pumps to operate with no air pockets in them, seals, tubing, etc.

It means there is a leak in your system, whether it's at the DDR, or the pump head connections. Personally, I did a lot of troubleshooting and got it to stop. Neptune support can help you figure it out. Other people seem to say don't worry about, but unless you're ok with under-dosing, or measure the amount that is actually coming out of the tube in a real world situation (collect for 24 hours or something), it's something I would try to fix.

Just read your post closer. If the air bubbles are gone, great. If they come back, only after the pump head, you might need to tighten the tubes on the nipples, or the head itself may have a leak. You can get a new head from neptune within warranty, or buy a new one for $30. Easy to replace.
