I have a Neptune Apex classic and DOS with the DOS Dual Reservoir. I had been very happy with all of them and they had been working flawlessly. However, one day the reservoir level sensors stopped showing up in Apex Fusion despite the DOS pumps working flawlessly. Ultimately, after trying to trouble shoot I sent it in for diagnosis.

What I received from them was a notice that the malfunction was due to water damage and I would have to pay for the repair. Needless to say I was a little disappointed and wanted to know what was damaged. I received the following in return

If you look at the following 2 images you will see why I am not only disappointed in the design, but also the fact I was charged for the repair.

As you can see the wire for the sensor travels in a depressed groove at the orifice for filling the reservoir. Then this wire travels only a couple centimeters and then directly downward into the control board that was damaged without a drip loop. Based on this design even a slight error in filling or over-filling can lead to salt water traveling directly into the control board. Hopefully they will re-design this and hopefully will reconsider charging people for fixing this specific repair. In the mean time, this is something to consider if you own this or are considering purchasing this

Round is an inefficient shape to begin with.
Honestly, if the control board failure didn't happen as above I would buy the DDR reservoir again in a heartbeat. I spent the extra bucks mainly for the notifications and integration. Sadly, this seemed to be it's biggest vulnerability in my experience, based on how the current design incorporated the necessary sensors and control board. However, if this was to be fixed I would 100% go back to this reservoir, with space efficiency (I'm assuming your are referring to more square designs) slightly lower on my list or priorites.

Is there a rubber seal between the cover and the doa itself?
Hahaha, now I think you may just be trolling. It worked flawlessly for 6 months, so it was not an DOA. Unfortunately, I cannot say if there is rubber seal or not as it is not easily broken down. Although, I am left assuming if there is a rubber seal it is insuficcient

I've never used one so I don't know how it's constructed. it would make sense to have a rubber seal under the little lid, and grommets around the cables.
