I am trying to fill my new tank with a Neptune Dos and have no clue how to just have it run at full speed until it drains my barrel. Can anyone help me out with this?

The motors aren't meant to be run like that but I am sure there is a work around with the AWC function

Yeah I figured, it'd only be the one time just to fill my tank. It's currently running a drip, gonna take awhile to fill a 360 gallon.

Bad use for the DOS

I just ran my RO unit directly to my tank. 250 gallon and let it run

It would get in the crevices of the rocks and possibly trapped in the sand

How'd you mix you're salt in there?

I added water and salt first. Left enough room for displacement and then added my rock and sand later.

I have also done it where I add the rock, sand, water and then salt after. I add the salt into the sump with a powerhead in the sump mixing things. The salt will dissolve in time (less than 24 hours with flow)

Anyone know if there's a way it will turn on and stay on even at the slower speed? Every time I turn it on, they will pump out water for only around 5 minutes then stop again.

I think you are better off just picking up an inexpensive pump you can throw in there......you will end up using it a lot for different things anyways.

They have a failsafe. Not exactly sure what that is, buit I do know those that use them for large water changes, have them run, then they shut off for as period of time to allow the motors to cool, then they resume.

Think it will run for like 5 minutes, then rest, then resume.

You could circumvent this with a dosing profile set at max dosage, and max speed.

Only issue with this, you can only dose 1,000ml at a time.

Yeah after some more research their max pumping output is 31 gallons/day.
