Neptune Doser for water changes

The only thing is u need to turn off ur ato so it doesn't just add rodi water instead of the saltwater
I have it pull my old saltwater at the same time it adds new saltwater, no need to turn the ato off. That's the default setting when you go through the Neptune dos water change wizard.

I used to have one head activate at xx:15 to pull Sw out of the variable level chamber of the sump (where the return pump is). Have the 2nd head pump fresh mixed Sw at xx:30 then at xx:45 have my ato turn on for 15min to fix the rest.

So I'm thinking of re working my water change station. Currently just use 2 35g brute cans. one for RO/DI and one for mixing salt to transfer to upstairs tank. So I see a lot of people using these white holding tanks....just curious how do you clean these? I find that my RO/DI get's slimy after a few months and my saltwater mixing brute can gets film build up on the sides that I wipe out after each water change. Or does it not matter to clean out?

I have been using the DoS unit to change out 20 gallons per week. I have the waste waterline plumbed directly into the waste drain of the house.

I have dual 100g reservoirs (one salt and one RODI) in the basement.

The DoS pulls from the salt mix reservoir, which is constantly keeping the water moving. I mix a new batch every 5 weeks!

Great topic. I was going to buy the DOS over the weekend but BRS had a website issue. Going to get two 85 gallon water storage containers and do about 5 gallons a day.

I need some help, I want to be able to do AWC from my mixing station that sits about 30 ft away from my sump which is under my display and next to that is my Apex control panel which has the ALD MOD & the PM2 MOD,2 Tunze controllers and 2 EB8's and a breakout box for Extra float switches for my Kalk reactor and float switch for my skimmer so it can't over flow. My apex control panel sits about 30 ft away from my Mixing station that's located in the garage. I want to be able to do AWC from my mixing station to my sump and I am trying to figure out everything I need to make this happen. So far I got the DOS, 1 EB8, 30FT Aquabus cable that will run to my Apex control panel that sits next to my tank. I already have an Inkbird temp controller and a PinPoint Salinity monitor for my mixing station. Also, I got Neptune's replacement tubing that's about 50ft for the DOS. I am only using the Neptune DOS for AWC B/C I have a Eschoops doser w/ slave. I will be mounting the DOS, along w/ the EB8 power bar above my mixing station where my RODI 6 stage system is mounted. I will be connecting my 30ft Aquabus cable to my Custom built apex control panel which will give it power. Also, will be adding a 2nd Neptune breakout box for some extra Float switches on my mixing barrels. What other MODULE would you recommend installing in the garage above my mixing station!
Any recommendations or thoughts would be HIGHLY appreciated?

Here are some pics, my sump is in the basement where my NSW tank and RODI filter is as well. 12000ml a day gets pulled from the NSW tank about 30 ft away. I have the OSW and NSW operate at the same time so it does not mess with the level in the sump and turn on/off the ATO intermittently.

To do this I have the removal of old salt water from my sump and add the NSW to my refugium so I am not adding and removing from the same location if that makes sense.

I also have a magnetic float switch in the NSW tank and will shut the DOS off if the water level is low. I have it set up so once it shuts the DOS off I shut them off with the control panel and then put them back on auto when my NSW tank is filled back up.

Since I don't have a separate mixing tank, I fill the NSW tank back up with RODI water and have a powerhead in there to mix up the salt. I have the magnetic float located so it drains 130 gallons before it shuts off. I fill the tank up with RODI and add three bags of reef crystals in and I achieve perfect salinity of 1.026. I check it with a refractometer and I am good to go. I don't bother with a heater. ONce the salt is mixed I shut the powerhead off and turn the DOS back auto.

Here are some pics...

150 Gallon NSW tank in my crawl space. You can see the wire from the power head come out the top. You can also see the awaki pump on the right of the tank which is plumbed into the DT in order to do a mass water change if necessary.

Magnetic float value connect to the Apex.

Each bag of Reef Crystasl is for 50 Gallons. I use 3 for 130 gallons to get a Specific gravity of 1.026

The top DOS pump on the left removes OSW from the sump on the left and adds NSW to the refugium on the right. So far so good, I really like this setup. I have enough water for about a month and a half of constant water changes. It takes a couple days to make up another batch of NSW and since I have the amount of water pre-determined I don't have to Meade out the salt. I just dump there bags in. I could always implement another holding tank so I have mixed NSW ready to go but at this point I have just not implemented that aspect.
