Hi everyone,

I just got this led as a gift from BRS (big thanks to BRS really) in one of my orders. However, I don't have any apex module/controller. So my stupid question is, can I connect the directly to a power supply without an apex equipment? If so, what is the recommended power rating (volt and amps) for that power supply?

Thanks

not only that, the actual Lunar Module is sold separately for like $60... so you need the string of lights, the module, and the apex for them to work... Plenty of lights have lunar cycles for cheaper...
I get that. I just have the string of lights. I am asking if there is a way to run them without Neptune, that's all. Theoretically speaking I know the logical answer is I need an apex, just looking for a workaround instead of spending $600 . Hope this clarifies my quest.
Thx

I'm fairly positive they're just a strand of LED's, figure out which lead is positive, which is negative, and put a battery on them to see if they light up. They likely run off of 5 volts DC power if I was to take a guess, so you could wire in a connector and get a power supply and you'd be golden.

You could cut off the plug and connect to a power supply. I just can't tell you which one (3v, 5v, 12v, ?), and you'll never get that info out of Neptune. But they are just a couple of cheap flat top LEDs in that plastic box. You can buy like a 100 on Amazon for seven bucks. I use a two string with LSM and Apex. The thing is the LSM varies the power. If you hook them to a power supply they may be too bright. The real value is they have a plug on them that plugs into the LSM. Maybe it's a subliminal message from BRS to buy the LSM, then buy an Apex

I got some random 4" filter socks with my order :)

Thanks I will find a female 1.3mm plug (that is the size I think) with a power adapter.

I also get this light from BRS in my box but they missed media bags I ordered
Will call them next week

I was curious how they picked what they sent you. I figured they sent you something similar to what you were ordering or better yet if it matched something in your wishlist. Looks like it’s totally random.

Same here I think they might put it by mistakes instead of the media bags
