These use an Apogee sensor so they are about as accurate has hobbyists can get. The only errors should come from a dirty or damaged sensor. What lights do you have and what size tank? 30 isn't crazy for an LPS tank.

I use AI Hydra 32Hd's in a 2 ft high tank. with the lights 12 inches over the water. I watched the BRS investigates on these lights and used their dimensions to try and replicate the same Par range. Mine is WAY off.
The top of the rocks are about 4 inches from the top of the water and at 90% settings on all blues, its less than 200 par. which just doesn't seem right.
