Neptune Sky - Possible to Set To All Red Light?

Hi all,

just got three skys for my new 235g. My question is if it’s possible to run the lights on 100% red?

i previously had radions and this was possible in custom settings. The reason i run Reds is to catch fish in my tank from time to time. It’s actually a make or break feature for me, so hope there’s a solution!!

Mind if I ask why you purchased a new light kit without checking before the purchase?

If you have them running you should be able to see this via the phone app or via fusion. There are 4 adjustable sliders for us to use. A, V, RB, and W. Moon channel is B, W.

Edit: my lights are off so I couldn't test this but via the mobile app maybe try the violet to 100 and the rest to 0. Another option is to flip through the various preset spectrums. Maybe one will get you close. However it isn't going to be a simple as moving a slider for R and the others to 0.

to be honest, with all the technology and bells and whistles, i just assumed that the skys would have this functionality. In the 100’s of small and big decisions that go into building a custom 235g tank, red spectrum lights weren’t on my radar (until after the fact)!

anyway, i saw the sliders, but like you pointed out it doesn’t include red. Don’t know if fish have the same sight deficiency with violet that they so enthusiastic red.

The SKY does not have a red channel. Only Amber/Green, Violet/UV, Blue, and White.

Sorry I couldn't help more. @SuncrestReef provided more detailed information than I so he gets the credit.

One thing to maybe consider as a work around is to find a comfortable forehead lightbar that has red LED's. I have one with soft white that I use when working around the sump or walking at night. Even have one for my German Shepherd although hers is on her collar This may be a nice work around.

Hope you enjoy the lights. I'm biased so of course I'm going to say I love mine. But as a fellow hobbyist being honest they have been rock steady and trouble free. Mobile app is really cool and I have to say it is the only light I've owned that has allowed me to adjust the spectrum without losing PAR. Flexible.
