I am getting ready to leave town. I have the Neptune Fish Feeder. I figure I would confirm if it was working. I notice that because of the way it’s design the food does not move forward and tends to hover in the back. This results in an inconsistent feed. I tried to slightly tilt forward but it’s not enough. Basically a bad design. Anyone have a similar issue and came up with a DYI fix. Thanks

I don’t have an answer or comment, but following along as I literally just set one up yesterday on my tank in preparation for an upcoming trip. Hoping for some good replies and suggestions.

If the feeder is mounted level then it will dispense all the food properly I believe it has a slant forward in the design to aid in pushing the food forward I own three of them and they work perfectly

I haven’t noticed that before. I use NLS pellets and fill it about 70% full before a trip. I usually test it for a couple days before to make sure it’s working and I’ve never had an issue. What are you filling it with and how much?

One thing I am trying. I cut out of cardboard that exact shape as inside and reduce the depth of the holding cup. This keeps the food towards front. Seems to work but will run for a few days

Mine empties out

My experience is the same as most here as well. If mounted level (which can be a challenge due to the wonky screw thing that isn’t that great at staying out), it will empty and dispense fairly consistently. As others have noted, the food barrel isn’t a perfect cylinder, it has a slight taper to it.

I also use Neptune’s XD pellets mixed with some algae pellets.

Solid idea... currently running mine and testing over the next couple weeks. May try something like that if I don’t get consist results.

Looking to see if I can mount it slightly on forward angle to help more as well.

Empties out. Remove the whole thing when filling or any food left spills in tank.
