Looks like Neptune Systems has a big announcement to be made tomorrow. I would venture to guess that they're ready to roll out their version of lights.

Not knowing what to expect, I think the bar is set high. Outside of Apex compatibility, what would make you excited and willing to purchase these lights?

I for one think they need to have great coverage packed in a small footprint, no moving parts (fan), the ability to tailor color spectrum, much like the Radion and finally, piece of mind that they've been field tested and offer various color spectrums to promote different hobbyist needs (great color and moderate growth, fast growth and moderate color, for both SPS and LPS.)

What say you, what do you expect?

Haha that’s what I posted too- perhaps they are working with Ryan to introduce it since he has tested dozens of fixtures.

Ecotech’s large scale collaboration with WWC certainly sets the bar high
I would agree that Ryan gave at least some guidelines as to what he would like to see in an LED.

If they are announcing a new product I really hope they learned a lesson from the COR and Trident.

Meaning, they aren't announcing it prior to it being close to an actual release.
I would hope they learned their lesson from past mistakes. I would imagine if it is in fact a new line of LED's, they have their ducks in a row...

I do think your thread title is premature though. There has been zero indication ( to my knowledge) that Neptune has publicly expressed interest in entering the LED market, let alone has a fixture to announce. Most commenters on BRStv think it is a lower cost entry model, like a revamp to the old apex JR.

Definitely speculation on my part. Doesn't take away that if they offered an LED fixture it would provide an option that we don't have.

Roughly a month ago there was a video that I watched or a thread that I read stating that they were in fact working on their own version of LED. Which I thought would make sense in this climate. Perhaps someone can provide that information.. or simply wait until tomorrow to hear what they say.
